MORECAMBE BAY ACADEMY

Stratus9 were appointed by the Bay Learning Trust to undertake a survey of Morecambe Bay to develop a strategic approach to phasing and dealing with the building issues. This then developed into further project specific appointments.

Both flat and pitched roofs across all the site were identified by Stratus9 as being at the end of their serviceable life. Failure resulting in serious water ingress was prevalent and the ongoing costs relating to maintenance and repair were excessive.

Stratus9 developed and procured detailed proposals and successfully secured funding via the Department for Education as an urgent special project.

Stratus9 delivered a complete roof refurbishment project including upgrading in line with current Building Regulations, from project inception, procurement, through the funding process to project completion to ultimately safeguard the schools’ property.

Now the school benefits from a safe, dry and warm environment in which to teach and learn. Furthermore, the reduced maintenance cost will continue to save valuable capital funds that the school can channel into their pupil’s education.
